Have you been wondering which style of yoga you should try? You’ve been reading magazines, books and websites just to get a “feel” for the different styles? There are so many different types of yoga. It is really difficult to figure out which one is right for you. You could either a) try them all or b) take the yoga styles quiz and see which one of the seven major yoga styles is right for you.
This quiz is just for fun so if your results don’t show the yoga style that you currently do and love or you’ve tried that yoga style and you hated it, the quiz may not be 100% accurate. Just remember this is for entertainment purposes only. Oh and a teacher makes all the difference in the world. Enjoy!
Thank you for the quiz! I don’t know much about yoga but want to learn.
Hello Marcia,
I’m glad the quiz was helpful. Yoga is about being present, body awareness and connecting to your inner self. Whether this works by doing Bikram Yoga or just using Chakra meditation is up to the individual. I hope that the information on the site is helpful and will be a signpost for you on the journey towards the light in yourself.

thank you for the quiz. actually this is the second time i took the quiz. And you know what? The results are the same, iyengar or anusara. Im in dillema right now about teacher training, my favourite is iyengar. Now i am more confidence in my decision of my yoga path. Thanks again
Hello Del,
I’m so glad that the Yoga Quiz has helped you clarify your yoga path. Iyengar yoga, I believe, is the foundation to all other forms of modern yoga today. Good luck with your teacher training.

I really enjoy bikram yoga/hot yoga/hot 26 which is the 26 yoga poses done twice in a hot room. I wanted to continue but unfortunately the classes are too pricey for me. What type of yoga is similar? I think that style has enough physical and spiritual combo for me. I like that i am always relaxed afterwards and its a stress reliever. i also notice my posture improves. What type of yoga style could I continue that is similar?I will most likely get a DVD so I can continue my practice so if you can recommend one I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance
Hello Karen,
Thanks for your question. Bikram Yoga is a “franchised” yoga style, meaning, if a studio teaches this style, they must pay a fee to Bikram Choudhury as well as attend teacher classes etc. which is expensive and this gets passed on to the consumer. Other styles to consider are Power Yoga, TriBalance Yoga and Moksha Yoga. Being Canadian, I’ve attended a moksha yoga class http://www.mokshayoga.ca/, which incorporates hot yoga but is considerably cheaper. You may also want to try http://fireshaper.com/contact which have locations in NY and NJ. It’s not as easy to practice hot yoga at home, however I can recommend some online sites that have videos. First off, Gaiam have yoga videos that you can do at home http://www.gaiam.com/yoga/videos/3010200,default,sc.html
If you’ve got a good internet connection, you can try Do Yoga with Me, which is a free, online library of yoga classes for all different levels and styles.
